Hi! नमस्ते! I’m Vivian—a writer and video-essay creator. I recently graduated summa cum laude from Wellesley College with a B.A. in History. Starting this fall, I will pursue the MPhil in Modern South Asia Studies at the University of Oxford. I am also a recipient of Wellesley’s Chandler-Ott Fellowship, which will support my graduate studies.
This website is a collection of things I have created thus far, ranging from a blog and podcast I produced while studying at Juilliard Pre-College, to the video-essays I create today.
Nowadays, my intellectual interests primarily lie at the intersection of modern South Asian history and literature. Specifically, I am interested in how historical actors navigated systems of empire, religion, and gender, and in how their voices endure through letters and other literary forms. I am committed to making these conversations accessible and inclusive, and I enjoy reflecting on my academic passions through videos on YouTube.
Lastly, I love getting mail! Please don't hesitate to get in touch if any of my ideas resonate with you.
